We're celebrating in style and therefore respectfully request that you come dressed for the occasion in cocktail formal wear. To make it as easy as possible for you, we've put together a fun little style guide as inspiration for you! Our wedding is intimate and unique, and if you made the guest list, know that you are one of our favourite and most special people in the world! We'd therefore like to treat you all like a part of the wedding party with many photos and even more fun together, and what better way to do that than to all come dressed in cohesion?
That said, much of the day's festivities will be outdoors and on uneven terrain - we're in a beautiful forested valley area! We’d therefore recommend planning your footwear and clothing with this in mind. Think stylish but comfy shoes that can handle a rock or two. Layers are always a good idea, too—Alberta weather loves to keep us on our toes.
Can I bring a date (plus one)?
All invited guest names will be clearly named on the invitation. Unless it is specifically stated that a date is invited, we ask that only those on the invitation list attend. Thank you so much for understanding!
Can my kids join?
While we love your kiddos, we invite you to take the weekend off parenting and join our adult-only wedding celebration. Some exceptions will be made for immediate family and special circumstances. All invited guest names, including kids, will be on the invitation.
Can I take photos on my phone?
We invite you to be fully present and share in the important moments of the day, phone-free. We therefore ask that you please refrain from using your phone for any reason (photos included) during any part of the ceremony. Our amazing professional photographer will capture all of the moments for us. We welcome photos during the more casual parts of the day.
Is the wedding inside or outside?
The venue's landscape is unlike anywhere else, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. The venue is set against a stunning landscape of rolling hills, expansive valleys, and serene lakes that make for an unforgettable enchanting setting - and one of the many reasons we loved and chose this as our wedding venue! The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside followed by a covered dinner in a breathtaking covered building. Finally, will finish off the evening dancing outside under the stars!
Do I need to bring cash for the bar?
We're grateful that you are making the trip for our day, so the party is on us! Cheers!
Is there parking at the wedding venue?
The Valley offers complimentary outdoor parking for all guests. If you are driving and celebrating with alcoholic beverages, we ask that you stay safe and please leave your vehicle parked until the next day or take the provided shuttle back to the Village at Pigeon Lake.
Can I Uber or Cab to / from the venue?
Due to the remote area of the venue, getting transportation on demand, particularly late in the evening, can be unpredictable and challenging. We recommend that you plan ahead and take advantage of the organized transportation between Pigeon Lake (The Village Creek Inn) and the venue.
Do you have a wedding registry?
We are so grateful for your thoughtfulness. Since we have already started our life together, we have opted out of a traditional registry. While your presence alone is enough, should you wish to gift us something, enveloped gifts are most appreciated to use toward our honeymoon and future life together.
Can I smoke at the wedding?
The venue has a designated smoking area, for regular tobacco cigarettes that you are welcome to use as needed throughout the day.
Due to AGLC regulations, because we are serving alcohol at our wedding, the use of marijuana unfortunately is not permitted and could result in our party getting shut down early (we'd be sad about that!).
What if I have mobility issues?
The venue offers transportation via golf cart for those guests who have mobility issues. We ask that you please refrain from using the golf cart "for fun" and allow it for those who truly require the assistance.
